About Marni
My lesson style and teaching methods will be tailored entirely to what works best for each student with each lesson.
I believe that English is both the most fascinating and the most essential subject so my number one aim is to translate this to more people. English literature is not just about teaching you to write and analyse but also about discovering the world around you through the voices of its people. It teaches you to form your own argument and opinion, to engage in what's happening around you, and also just to be curious and question everything!
The idea of my tutoring is to not only to help tutees with specific work but to ultimately increase their confidence in themselves and their ability in the subject and motivate them to get inspired to develop their own personal interest and passion in their subjects which will, in itself, enable them to go much further.

I offer tutoring for ages 5-19 (through primary and secondary school levels) in:
- English Literature from primary school and 11+ (eg Creative writing, Comprehensions and spelling), to GCSE and A Level (eg Essay writing and Exam preparation)
- Writing your Personal Statement for university UCAS application
- English Language at GCSE (eg essay writing, exam preparation, speech writing)
I am a student in English Literature at the University of Edinburgh. My A level qualifications are A*AA with an A in English Literature and my GCSEs include A*s in both English Literature and English Language.
Online lessons, typically 1 hour. I have experience in tutoring and also working in primary schools. Tutoring can cover school work, homework, exam preparation, school catch up and anything else that is helpful for the individual student.
