About Corey
I believe what sets me apart from other tutors you might find on this website is that I took my science prerequisite courses as a 23, 24, and 25 year old due to a career change.
I graduated from Samford University with a degree in psychology with the intentions of a career in higher education. After working a year at the University of Alabama as an admissions counselor, I quickly learned this was not my path. I decided to reenroll in school at the University of Mississippi in order to pursue a career in optometry instead after an experience with our family eye doctor. Nevertheless, I still have a passion to teach and a desire to make school less daunting.
I was thrown into this world of Biology, General Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Biochemistry, and Physics without having had any science courses in over half a decade. I decided to swim instead of sink and made straight A's with only a couple of B's. If an old man like me can do it, so can you. I want to show you how.

Biology courses can be like trying to drink water from a fire-hose. There is so much information being thrown at you at once that it is easy to feel overwhelmed. My goal is to help you see the "big picture" ideas in your biology courses. I will show you how to not get caught in the details thus allowing you study more efficiently and still remain on top of your other courses.
Our first meeting will be a baseline assessment to see what studying/organizational skills you already have and set your goals so we can figure out as a team how to crush them. As long as I have your syllabus, the chapters of content you will be covering, and your enthusiasm to learn, we will dominate your courses.
