About Emily
I am a passionate educator and a voracious reader with a zeal for literacy, literacy education, and the intersection of literacy and social justice. I work to create spaces where children and adults alike can expand their world through reading. As a trained Orton-Gillingham reading specialist, I have one goal. Teach the world to read!
I am trained at the Associate Level of Orton-Gillingham Academy and have completed over 100 hours of supervised practicum.
I believe everyone deserves to experience the joy of sailing to a far-off land to find buried treasure, soaring through the skies with Amelia Earhart, scaling the snowy peaks of Mount Everest, or any other adventure they wish within the pages of a book.

I work to create spaces where children and adults alike can expand their world through reading. Using the direct and explicit, multi-sensory, diagnostic and prescriptive, structured and sequential methods that are the hallmark of the Orton-Gillingham approach, I help students with dyslexia improve in phonics, reading, spelling, phonemic awareness, comprehension, and handwriting.
