About Harriet
I have been a PGCE-qualified primary school teacher for nine years, judged outstanding by OFSTED. I have taught in Reception, Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2. I have co-ordinated Foundation Stage Literacy and Key Stage 1 Phonics, as well as leading Key Stage 1 Music. I have also been an Assistant English Language teacher in Japan for two years.
I am a very enthusiastic, warm and friendly tutor and I ensure that all my lessons are tailored to each individual`s needs and abilities. I employ a variety of teaching tools, for example, singing songs whilst playing my guitar with younger children.
I currently provide 1:1 English and Maths tuition to children, both online and face-to-face.
I have successfully taught primary school students online since the first Covid lockdown and I currently use Skype or Zoom for my lessons. I use a variety of materials during lessons, including dice games if teaching maths, playing my guitar when learning about rhyme in literacy and sharing my screen for all sorts of activities.
