About David
As a high-school teacher I was certified in Latin, French, English. Also taught Spanish. Studied Greek and German in college. So I'm a "word person." (I said word, not weird! Lol). I have an enriched vocabulary from 20 years of school (including masters degree) and life-long learning; and from beaucoup reading, doing crossword puzzles, etc. Now retired, I still love learning and tutoring. My other passions include music, baseball, gardening, and people. Now I'd like to meet you!

It's not about learning one word at a time, but learning SKILLS. Skills to analyze thousands of English words by their roots, prefixes, etc. and so figure out meanings. Skills to decode English derivatives from Latin & Greek roots. Lifetime skills. For lessons I can provide a list of important roots and English derivatives, or you can find them in books and online. In the lessons I elaborate on definitions, teach the importance of context clues, use words in sentences as examples, etc. And ask you to practice using them right away.
