About Jess
My name is Jess (she/her) and I’m a 23 year old student teacher at the University of Cambridge. I studied Geography at undergraduate level, obtaining a First Class Honours degree from the University of Oxford. I absolutely love geography, science, and all things natural! I have a particular interest in ecology, and have undertaken several conservation education initiatives in schools around the world, such as in Rwanda and Malaysia. I also have a strong passion for teaching and learning; I truly believe every day is a school day and love learning new things, especially through the practice of engaging with a diverse range of students. Inclusivity is at the core of my practice - being neurodivergent and physically disabled myself, I know firsthand how important inclusive and adaptive teaching is, and always aim to fully meet the unique needs of each and every student I work with. I take great pride in my work as a tutor, and always aim to centre my students in everything I do in order to secure the best outcomes and watch them flourish.

I graduated from the University of Oxford with a First Class Honours degree in BA Geography this year, and am now undertaking a PGCE in Primary Education at the University of Cambridge. I am passionate about education and learning, and very experienced in tutoring students in applying to university, especially to Oxford and Cambridge. I believe that every student should have the opportunity to show off their academic strengths and abilities, and love working with students to help them to best showcase themselves in their applications. Inclusivity and access is at the forefront of everything I do; I take great care to make sure I meet the needs of my students. Sessions typically last 1 hour and will most likely be at weekends or the evening on weekdays (due to my working hours in a school). I can help students to make decisions about course and university choices, compose and proofread personal statements, prepare for entrance exams and interviews, and generally discuss the application process.
