About Emily
I am an undergraduate at Oxford University studying English, so I have an extensive knowledge of the skills required to flourish in the subject of English Language and Literature. I am able to articulate myself well, adapting to suit the needs of the listener, a skill I refined when working as a tutor for Explore Learning with children from the age of 5 up to 16. I'm also super chatty, so tutoring sessions can be fun as well as useful!

Working as an Oxford University English Literature ambassador and as a tutor of Maths and English, my experience has taught me how important building a relationship is. So, I cultivate a relaxed and friendly atmosphere in sessions to ease the learning process. My approach is student led, focusing on defined personal learning goals. As there are no wrong answers in English, I want to equip students with tools they can apply to any text, rather than simply dictating what to memorise. This sets them up with transferable skills as well as exam-orientated answers.
