About Trevor
My areas of expertise are essay-writing, reading, history, and religion. My educational background has helped me become a skillful essay writer and test taker. In high school, I received a perfect score on the SAT Reading section, and a 35 on the ACT reading section. For my bachelor’s degree, I graduated magna cum laude from Haverford College, with High Honors in both my history and religion majors and a perfect score on my two senior theses. Most recently, I completed two master’s degrees in history and religion from the University of Oxford in the UK. I am a current PhD student at the University of Edinburgh.

Hello, my name is Trevor, and I am here to help you! In my tutoring sessions, I try to tailor my lessons to the needs of the individual student. People learn in different ways, and I will cater to you whether you are a visual or auditory learner. In addition, by placing concepts in a wider context, and providing specific examples, I will help you to retain key concepts for longer to be able to comprehensively explain them later in essays or exams.
In my assistance with essay writing, my main goal is to let your original ideas, insights, and experiences shine through, while placing them in a context that is most conducive for a smooth reading experience. This involves a focus on word choice, sentence structure, and the overall flow and organization of ideas. Whether you are writing an essay for school/university or working on a college application, I can help you present your writing in an original and well-organized manner, that communicates your message clearly and articulately.
In all of my sessions, I am patient and encouraging of my students, helping them to reach their full potential. I make sure to prioritize the subjects students need the most help with, and give them the tools to further develop their knowledge independently.
I have always really enjoyed tutoring, and have been doing so since high school. I look forward to helping with any of your reading, writing, or test-taking needs.
