About Rosalind
I am a current PhD/DPhil student in literature and languages at the University of Oxford, as well as a published writer of fiction, nonfiction, and journalism. I'd love to help you improve in English and literature studies, and to support you in developing your writing skills. I have 4+ years of tutoring experience and have tutored students aged from 5 years to adults. I worked for 1 year with MyTutor, tutoring students preparing for their English GCSEs and A Levels. I have also worked as a tutor for Crimson Education and have taught English as a second language in Argentina, Italy, and Australia. In terms of background, I completed my MPhil in comparative literature and languages at the University of Cambridge in 2021, graduating with distinction. I have worked as a speechwriter, a research communications professional, and freelance journalist. I am currently back in the world of academic research, and am keen to return to tutoring - a job that I have always enjoyed and found rewarding.

I typically teach lessons that run for 1 hour, although I am also happy to adjust depending on your needs. I have taught GCSE texts (e.g. An Inspector Calls; The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas) and am always happy to familiarise myself with texts on which my students are working. I am comfortable working with children or adults, either one-to-one or in small groups. I seek to tailor my lessons to students' needs and do my best to encourage students, highlighting their strengths and reframing their weaknesses as challenges that they can meet and address constructively. In terms of further qualifications, I have passed my DBS Check and also have a qualification in Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL).
