About Joel
I'm currently studying Physics at St Edmund Hall, University of Oxford. Over the past year I've taken up tutoring as a part time job which I do in London outside of my term times.
My degree combines scientific ingenuity with a variety of mathematical methods and consequently I am well qualified to teach A-levels in Maths and Further Maths as well as in Physics. Due to my background in physics I can teach mathematics in a way which is illustrative and intuitive and I look for explanations of concepts which differ from a textbook's descriptions. Also, due to my ability to apply mathematics to physics, I can explain physical concepts in a way which is much more rigorous and clear than the standard approach of many teachers which is to get students to rote-learn definitions and formulae.
