About Katy
When applying to university, I was really lucky with the support I received. I would like to offer the same support to any student interested in the medical or biological sciences with either the BMAT exam or their university application as a whole. I have experience tutoring, from working with younger students in maths lunchtime clinics at school and voluntary online tuition for non-profit organisations.
I achieved A*A*A*A in the A-levels Maths, Biology, Chemistry and Further Maths respectively and 11 A*s at GCSE. In the BMAT I scored 6, 6.8 and 3A in Sections 1, 2 and 3 respectively (coming in the top 10% in the first two sections in my cohort October 2018).
At the University of Oxford, I am now entering my second year and am continuing to thrive. I was awarded a First based on the work I produced in my first year.

I am a second year Biomedical Science student, and interested in tutoring any student who wants guidance through the university application process, the BMAT exam or the A-levels I studied.
I will focus entirely on you as an individual when structuring my lessons and work with you so that the sessions are as effective as possible. I believe in using science-based methods for teaching, so will always encourage as much active-recall and spaced repetition as possible!
I love biology, and I love learning. I'm a self-confessed nerd! I believe tutoring should be an enjoyable, fun and supportive process and I want my students to come away from every session feeling more confident in themselves and their ability to tackle problems. I tutor because I love how rewarding it is, and I love to see my students progress.
