About Latoya
I am a passionate teacher of physics with over 10+ years of experience who wants to build confidence in students and help them become better learners and critical thinkers. This combination of understanding physics concepts and knowing how to learn leads to high grades.
I have recently returned to New Zealand to teach online and have enjoy a better work-life balance. I enjoy the outdoors, reading, cycling, game theory, and playing the piano.

I teach physics to students following GCSE/IGCSE/A-level/IB/NCEA 1-3 courses. My lessons are 60 minutes long and form part of an individualised learning plan for each student. In each lesson I help students build a deeper understanding of physics through clear, intuitive explanations and by using science memes, the latest science news, and animations.
I have been a physics teacher for over 10 years, subject lead, examiner, and assistant director of studies in charge of teacher CPD. I have helped students get interviews at Oxford and Cambridge by helping them prepare for their NSAA or PAT tests or helped younger students with school entrance exams. I have also worked extensively with students with EAL, ADHD, anxiety, depression, and other learning needs.
I hold the following qualifications: MSc in Learning and Teaching (University of Oxford, Distinction), PGCE in Physics with Mathematics (Oxford Brookes University), MSc in Medical Physics (University of Canterbury, 2:1), BSc in Physics and Mathematics (University of Canterbury, 2:1).
