About Arefa
I have experience as a GCSE Tutor within a small organisation. I taught Mathematics, Science and English classes to 6 GCSE students to help them prepare for their exams and provided tests to focus and tailor learning based on individual strengths and weaknesses.
I was able to summarise large content and translate it into easier terms for the students to understand.
The tests scores of each student increased by at least one grade in one month.
I received weekly positive feedback from parents regarding the improvement of the students’ confidence and knowledge.
I also had the opportunity to teach a class of 4 primary students for a day.
I also have experience with tutoring my sisters. One sister became more confident and improved her Mathematics grade for GCSE and ended up choosing the subject for A-levels. I am currently tutoring another sister who is currently in Primary School.

I believe to be a patient and compassionate person which helps with my approach to teaching students. I understand that every student is different in the way they are comfortable learning. I understand that everyone has different strengths and weaknesses and would love to utilise my skills to enable students to be more confident and improve their own Mathematics skills.
A typical lesson with me will include:
Using resources and worksheets which have been prepared beforehand to give the students a clear picture, structure and understanding of what they are working on and plan.
I will be going through examples to work on together and then ask the student to complete questions on their own while being supervised.
The lesson will wrap up with setting small homework which will be reviewed in the following session.
