About Gayle
Hello!
I am a Secondary 4 student recently returning to piano, and I am excited to experience music with you! I have experience as a guitarist in an ensemble, and am also the bassist in an active band, so if you need help with stage performances, I can also help with that.
Music is about your special feelings, not just the correct notes. Mistakes are normal when practicing, and style takes a while to develop. It takes time to understand your feelings and the composer's, so let's be patient and work together :)
I am happy to answer all kinds of questions during the lesson, including those outside of the music curriculum. Hello!
I am a Secondary 4 student just recently returning to piano, more comfortable with teaching younger children (preschool to middle primary) taking lower grades (1-3). I would be better equipped to teach for the ABRSM courses, since my qualifications lie there. However, the latter is negotiable, do let me know the requirements for the student's music board:)
Due to the grade level and my own commitments, lessons would likely be around 1 and a half hours long. As a short-term tutor for about a month or so, I could manage lessons twice or thrice a week. Timings are negotiable.
While I lack formal teaching experience due to my age, I have experience volunteering with young children, including those with disabilities or developmental delays.
I would like to start off with a lesson plan for each week, laying out the foundations of the piece before layering techniques and cultivating the musicalities. However, as with children, I like to keep my schedule flexible to accommodate inquiries and hear each child out about their own opinions of the music they play. I promise to balance care and timeliness, and I hope my student has a good time with me :)
