I am passionate and dedicated to education, and wish to help all children achieve their best. I am currently completing my Primary PGCE qualification at Newcastle University and will soon become a qualified Primary School Teacher. I have completed placements across the primary phase, teaching a range of subjects and working with children with various needs. My experience has given me a wide range of skills across the subject ranges and I am able to adapt my teaching to suit each individual child's needs. I pride myself on my calm and caring manner and strive to ensure all children feel comfortable and above all are enjoying their learning. I have a good knowledge of the National Curriculum, national testing, including SATs, and of new trends in education, such as maths mastery.
Also, I completed a history degree at Newcastle University in 2016, and I am also available to tutor this subject up to A Level. I have a particular passion for history and I am very interested in how our present has been shaped by the events of the past. My particular areas of interest are Northern Ireland, WW1, WW2, Tudors and Russian history, but I have studied a wide range of topics through my degree and am willing to tutor on any topic or area.
I want to help children to achieve their potential, and I use a variety of teaching methods to help them to achieve this. The most important part of teaching is working on the needs of the child, and adapting lessons to suit this, rather than using a one size fits all method. I believe my passion for learning adds to my teaching and I would love to work with more children in helping their education.
