About Ashleigh
I am a motivated and passionate law graduate with a strong interest in education, mentorship, and academic development. Having completed my Bachelor of Arts in Law and currently pursuing my Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree at IIE Varsity College, I have developed a solid academic foundation in legal studies, criminology, legal interpretation, and professional communication. My goal is to use my knowledge and enthusiasm for learning to support and guide students who are studying law, criminology, and legalese, while helping them build confidence in their academic abilities.
Throughout my academic journey, I have gained extensive experience in legal research, critical thinking, statutory interpretation, and academic writing. These skills have allowed me to understand complex legal concepts and communicate them in a clear and simplified manner. I believe that effective tutoring is not only about teaching information, but also about helping students develop understanding, confidence, and the ability to think independently. I enjoy breaking down difficult concepts into manageable explanations that are easier for students to understand and apply.
My interest in criminology stems from a passion for understanding the legal system, criminal behavior, justice, and the societal impact of law. I am particularly interested in discussions around criminal justice, legal ethics, constitutional rights, and how law influences society. In addition, I have a strong appreciation for legalese and legal writing, and I enjoy helping others improve their understanding of legal terminology, case analysis, and legal communication.
Beyond academics, I am highly organized, patient, approachable, and committed to creating a supportive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and engaging openly. My volunteer experience with the Smile Foundation strengthened my communication, teamwork, and interpersonal skills, all of which are important when working with students from diverse backgrounds and learning styles.
I am passionate about continuous learning and personal growth, and I aim to inspire students to approach their studies with confidence, curiosity, and determination. As a tutor, I would strive to create engaging and encouraging lessons that not only improve academic performance but also help students develop critical thinking skills and a genuine interest in the subjects they are studying.

What makes my lessons unique is that I combine academic knowledge with a practical and approachable teaching style. I break down complex legal principles, case law, and criminological theories into clear and easy-to-understand explanations. I also focus on helping students improve essential academic skills such as legal writing, case analysis, research, argument construction, and exam technique.
As someone with a strong background in legal studies, I understand that subjects like Criminal Law, Constitutional Law, Law of Evidence, Jurisprudence, and Criminology can sometimes feel overwhelming. My goal is to create a comfortable learning environment where students feel encouraged to ask questions, participate actively, and build confidence in their abilities.
My lessons are interactive, well-structured, and adapted to university-level expectations. I also provide guidance on assignments, essay structure, referencing, and understanding legislation and case law. For criminology students, I help simplify theories, crime trends, victimology, criminal justice systems, and sociological perspectives in a way that is both interesting and practical.
