About Philomena
I am a passionate English teacher with 22 years’ experience, 18 of which were in lead roles at local and international schools, with an MA in Childhood Studies and Education and a PGCE from Leeds Beckett University in the UK.
I maintain open communication with parents, sharing ongoing observations, providing regular reports on their child's progress, to discover their full potential and offering recommendations as needed.

Deliver instruction across a range of subjects, including phonics, reading comprehension, creative writing, grammar, and interview/assessment preparation for local and international schools, including UK 7+ and 11+ entry.
Successfully guided past students in their preparation for 7+ and 11+ examinations.
Develop and implement creative, constructive lesson plans aligned with the EYFS, the British National Curriculum and the Singapore MOE curriculum.
Prepare students for Cambridge English exams, including Pre A1 Starters, Movers, Flyers, A2 Key for Schools, and B1 Preliminary for Schools.
Facilitate tailored, dynamic, effective, and engaging lessons.
Integrate geography, history, literature, and global citizenship into English lessons, adapting to the students' level to expand their general knowledge and global awareness.
Together with the student, I explore options, develop strategies, and build self-awareness to overcome academic barriers, fostering confidence and independence.
