About Samantha
As a very recent graduate I am already missing education! I have a strong passion for science and maths and want to pass this on to the next generation of students. I believe that these subjects can be enjoyed and excelled in by anyone given the right encouragement and support.
I can offer tutoring in maths and physics for levels up to and including GCSE and A-level. I can also offer chemistry and biology GCSE lessons. I achieved straight a/a*s in my own GCSE/A-levels and so I feel confident in my knowledge of how to perform in these exams.
I can also offer programming lessons which is an invaluable skill to learn, especially offering a head start at a young age.

I like to start off by introducing students to a cool/interesting idea associated with the topic of study that day (I may even send a YouTube video to watch prior to the lesson, if they're interested).
I then start with simple problems to help warm up the mind. In maths/sciences, there really is no substitution for practice. My lessons will focus mainly around tackling problems and gaining a deep understanding through discussion. I believe this is a far more rewarding and helpful method than just rote learning.
Throughout the term, I work methodically through the syllabus, using a traffic light system check-list where myself and the student can keep track of which areas are solid and which ones need improvement. I hope to create a relationship with my students where they can openly ask for help and point out parts of the syllabus they're not confident in and, enthusiastically discuss the topics they like the most.
