About Simon
I first pursued a Bachelor's degree in Engineering Physics at Polytechnique Montréal, where I learned the rudiments of laser science and optics. I continued my studies at the master's degree in Medical Physics at McGill University, where I learned how to use radiation physics for medical imaging and radiotherapy treatments of cancer tumors. I finally decided to merge both skillsets in a PhD degree at INRS-EMT, into an exciting field of research called laser-driven ion acceleration.

My teaching methods are based on first discussing the essential concepts to understand in a subject, without any equations. This allows to better set the grounds on the topic. We will then develop and use together the necessary mathematical concepts to further increase the comprehension of the topics. We will finally look at different day-to-day examples of the concepts and see where it applies in the global society of today.
