About Jacqueline
I am a native Chinese speaker and a Psychology-major student at the University of Melbourne. Back in China, I consistently achieved excellent grades in Chinese language and literature, giving me solid expertise in my mother-tongue language.
I have hands-on prior experience working as a Chinese teacher, supporting learners ranging from young children aged 6–7, teenagers to adult students. I take my tutoring work seriously and always show up well-prepared for every lesson.
Thanks to my psychology studies, I have a strong awareness of different individual learning styles. I stay patient, encouraging and good at spotting where students might struggle. I never push students too hard and I tailor my teaching style to help each person build real confidence when learning Chinese.
I am friendly, reliable and detail-oriented. Whether you are just starting out or hoping to polish your conversational Chinese, I will create a safe, comfortable space for you to practice, make mistakes and make steady progress with your Chinese-learning goals.

My tutoring approach is student-centered. I design fun, easy-to-remember lessons to help learners understand Chinese naturally, instead of rigid rote memorization. I use practical real-life examples, daily dialogue practice and simple memory-friendly techniques to make learning engaging and less stressful.
A typical lesson runs 40–60 minutes. Within each session, we will cover speaking practice, vocabulary building and simple grammar, adjusted fully to your pace and goals. Lessons can switch focus between conversational practice, pronunciation correction or basic reading depending on what you want to improve.
I have previous experience working as a Chinese teacher in China, teaching students from age 6–7 up to teenagers, and also adult learners. I am comfortable working with complete beginners, intermediate learners and anyone wanting to improve everyday conversational Chinese.
Drawing on my Psychology major background at the University of Melbourne, I am mindful of different learning styles. I will observe your progress and adapt my methodology so content makes sense for you. Lessons are available both online and in-person within Melbourne.
