About Ethan
I am a friendly, patient and dedicated tutor who is passionate about helping students reach their full potential in Mathematics or Statistics. As someone who has recently completed these qualifications myself, I understand the challenges students face and can explain essential concepts in a clear and relatable manner. Every student learns differently, so I strive to adapt my teaching style to maximise their progress, creating a supportive and encouraging learning environment, where making mistakes is all part of the process, allowing them to ask questions without worrying about any judgement. After all, asking questions is one of the best ways to learn!

I will first begin with an assessment of each student's current ability, using this I will then identify any areas that the student finds challenging.
Instead of enforcing memorising methods, I focus on developing students' fundamental skills behind each topic. Once these foundations are secure I will then gradually continue towards increasingly difficult questions and exam-style problems. These will be formulated by using the subject specification directly from the examining board.
Lessons will typically last an hour and will include a mixture of explanation of the topics, guided practice as well as independent exam questions. I regularly use past paper questions and their corresponding mark schemes to improve students' familiarity with the style of questions and general exam technique.
I achieved a Grade 9 in GCSE Maths, a Grade 8 in GCSE Further Maths and an A in A-Level Maths, so I am capable regarding both the GCSE curriculum as well as the skills required for achieving the highest grades.
My lessons are suitable for students studying GCSE Maths, GCSE Further Maths or GCSE Statistics. Whether they are aiming to improve their confidence, catch up on difficult topics that haven't been covered, or achieve the highest grades, I adapt each lesson to suit the student's needs.
