About Lucy
Hi, I’m Lucy. I come from a strong Chinese education background, which has given me a solid foundation in mathematics and logical thinking. I am currently studying Bachelor of Science/Master of Teaching at Deakin University, and I am passionate about helping students understand math in a clear and simple way.
I started tutoring because I enjoy using my ability to explain concepts clearly to help students realize that math is not as difficult as they think, and can even be interesting. I have experience working with children and I am patient, supportive, and easy to communicate with.
I especially enjoy helping students build confidence step by step and develop a strong foundation, so they can feel more comfortable and independent in their learning.

I focus on helping students truly understand maths, rather than just memorising methods. My lessons are clear, structured, and adapted to each student’s level, especially for primary and junior students who need to build strong foundations. Coming from a strong Chinese education background, I place great importance on building solid fundamentals and logical thinking in maths.
I am patient and supportive, and I guide students step by step so they can gain confidence and become more independent in solving problems. I also make sure to check students’ understanding regularly, instead of assuming they already know the basics. By asking questions and encouraging active thinking throughout the lesson, I ensure students are fully engaged and truly understand what they are learning. I also adjust the pace depending on the student’s needs to ensure they are not overwhelmed.
Lessons are typically 50–60 minutes. I can help with school homework, reinforce fundamental skills, and support students in building confidence in maths.
