About Tianyu
Tianyu is a passionate and experienced tutor who brings a wealth of academic success and mentoring experience to every session. Tianyu graduated from Accelerated Mathematical Methods with a perfect 50/50 score, as well as Specialist Maths with perfect internal scores, excelling in both External and Internal assessments. Her dedication to mathematics has been recognised with numerous accolades, including the QCAA Subject Achievement Award and being named Dux of Subject in Mathematical Methods for two consecutive years. Tianyu has led tutoring efforts across a variety of subjects, including English and debating. She has extensive experience in competition mathematics Beyond high school, Tianyu has worked closely with younger students, mentoring junior school learners in creative writing and coaching junior debating teams. With a genuine passion for helping students excel, Tianyu is committed to providing tailored, supportive tutoring that empowers each student to reach their academic goals.

I offer tutoring for all year levels and abilities up until Year 12 and I am well experienced in both the QCE and VCE curricula (For Queensland and Victorian students). All session times are possible and can be arranged.
**Achievements & Experience:**
As a well rounded student with a range of achievements in Music, extracurriculars, and academics, I graduated with a perfect 50/50 result in Mathematical Methods from my accelerated class in 2024, as well as perfect marks across all internal exams, and an ATAR of 99.90 (2025), earning the Subject Achievement Award and Dux of Subject in Mathematical Methods for two consecutive years. I am also honored to be a National Mathematics Summer School (NMSS) graduate (ANU) and a Gold Coast Debating Adjudicator (2023-2024). Additionally, I’ve been the Academic Mentoring Captain, where I mentored students in various subjects, including English, Science Subjects, Maths and debating.
I am passionate about empowering students to achieve their full potential and find confidence in their abilities. It’s incredibly rewarding to see students grow, not only in knowledge but also in self-belief.

**My Tutoring Approach:**
I believe in a personalized, student-centered approach. Each lesson is tailored to the student’s individual needs, focusing on building a strong foundation, improving problem-solving skills, and boosting confidence.
**Lesson Structure:**
Lessons typically begin with a brief review of previous content, followed by focused instruction on new material. I provide plenty of opportunities for hands-on practice, and I encourage students to ask questions and engage with the material.
**Materials Provided:**
I have a range of past papers and resources in all areas including competition maths - I also offer worksheets, notes, and practice problems tailored to the student’s needs. I also recommend textbooks that align with the curriculum and areas of focus.
**Levels of Tutoring Offered:**
I tutor students from Junior School to Senior High School, with a special focus on Mathematical Methods, competition math, and English. I also offer academic mentoring and tutoring for debating.
**Specialization:**
While I have broad experience across subjects, I specialize in Mathematics, particularly Mathematical Methods and competition math. My background as a Debating Adjudicator and experience in English tutoring also make me well-equipped to help students excel in those areas.
