About Ling
Hi, I’m Ling. I hold a Master of Social Work from an Australian university and used English throughout my studies and professional work.
I achieved IELTS Academic 7.5 and Superior PTE Academic results, consistently scoring 90 in Speaking and Listening. I once felt nervous speaking with native speakers, so I understand how learners can feel. I’d like to help you practice, feel comfortable making mistakes and build your confidence.
My background in social work and HR has given me experience explaining unfamiliar concepts, answering questions and providing feedback. I take a patient, personalized approach, adapting lessons to your needs and pace.
I speak English, Mandarin, Bahasa Malaysia, Cantonese, Hokkien and Teochew. We can use a shared language whenever it helps you understand.

We’ll discuss your goals and challenges, then personalize lessons to your level, needs and pace. I can help with:
• PTE practice, especially speaking and listening.
• IELTS speaking practice and developing your answers.
• Everyday English conversation.
• Mandarin or Malay conversation and speaking practice.
• Interview preparation.
• Study planning and practical test-preparation tips.
If you feel nervous, we can start with relaxed conversations and build from there. Mistakes are a normal part of learning.
I can explain things in English, Mandarin, Bahasa Malaysia (Malay), Cantonese, Hokkien or Teochew, whichever helps you understand best.
