About Robert
My name's Rob, I have been in education for 14 years as a secondary, college and 6th form maths teacher. I have also been the head of mathematics in 3 large schools and have been the owner of RM Tuition for the past 6 years. I am a fully qualified teacher, hold a full QTS (qualified teaching qualification) in mathematics, I have a full and clean DBS and have privately taught over 2500 students with a 100% success rate. I also have 5-star reviews which I can happily share. I love maths and I get a buzz from helping students to smash their targets or helping students to attain a pass if they are resorting. I don’t have a ‘niche’, I teach any age, any ability and any level. I have never found anyone who couldn’t achieve their goals, they just often hadn’t found the right teacher/tutor. I personally love learning, I hold a master's degree, 3 bachelor's degrees as well as my PGCE, being a mastery of mathematics specialist and many more. I specialise in one-2-one tuition and have tutored over 2500 students to achieve their goals, be that attaining a pass after being predicted a fail or moving a grade 7 at GCSE to a 9. I use the mastery approach to teaching maths, allowing students to quickly learn, develop and excel in SAT’s, GCSE’s, A-Level’s, functional skills and professional qualifications. Every student receives a personalised and adaptive learning plan, focusing on building confidence by developing and nurturing core skills, no matter a student's ability. Lessons are structured to develop confidence, starting with (where appropriate) pictorial adaptation to conceptualise mathematical concepts, before developing understanding to the abstract element. There is a very interactive format to my tuition process, which students find allows them to often overcome challenges they couldn’t overcome before. No one student is the same as the next and so, neither are my lessons.
