About Luciana
I have been working with the language for 12 years in a dynamic way, focused on conversation, in order to enable my students to communicate with confidence and tranquility. My focus is to get away from the basics and textbooks normally used in English schools and focus on my student's daily life, with topics pertinent to their interests and goals, making use of News Articles and Magazines, Excerpts from Series, Films, Lectures, Music, etc. IELTS, TOEFL, ECPE and Interviews, English Proofs for Job Vacancies (Embraer, Santander, Itaú), Conversation, Business English, Professional English (Law, Engineering, Medicine). I also help my students with more punctual activities, such as preparing presentations and lectures, writing e-mails, etc. My classes are personalized, focused on conversation and on the goals and interests of my students. I do not charge tuition, there is no need for investment in material and there is also no loyalty period - you can stop classes when necessary (I just do not return values). Thinking of making the classes as flexible as possible for my students, I request only 4h in advance for cancellation of the class with remarking.

Hello! Pleasure, Luciana Pirk, English enthustiast! Passionate about the English language since I've known myself, I spent years and a lot of life learning the language and learning to teach it. I received my first international certificate, the University of Michigan Certificate of Proficiency in English at the age of 16. Two years later I lived in New Jersey, in the United States, where I went AuPair and lived with American families for 18 months. There, I did several courses at universities both in New Jersey and New York. I returned to Brazil in 2006 and started my professional life in 2007 as an English Teacher. I worked in English schools and also in an international bilingual school. In 2015 I received my second international certification of "Ittt" - TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages), which qualifies me to teach English anywhere in the world. I am currently studying Letters at UNITAU. I have been working as a private teacher for 7 years, when I started The English Teacher, bringing my acquired experience to personalized, dynamic and student-focused classes. My focus as a teacher is to help my students reach their goals, be they academic, personal and / or professional. My classes are 100% in English, in the communicative method, taking the conversation as a base. I work collaboratively with my students, taking into account interests, hobbies, needs, difficulties, facilities, feedback, suggestions and even complaints !! The choice of material is made between me and the student - I only adopt a book for use in class after having OK with it. Besides the use of books, I prepare extra activities for music, video (films, serials, documentaries, lectures) and reading. In short, my goal is my student's goal. I currently work with classes via Skype and in person in São José dos Campos and I have partnerships with teachers in other locations (São Paulo and Jacareí). I also work with Portuguese / English translations and vice versa.
