About Canyok
As a guitar tutor with Master’s degrees in Music, I am committed to guiding students towards mastery, creativity, and confidence on the guitar. I begin by teaching solid fundamentals—posture, finger technique, chord transitions, strumming, rhythm, and tone—before introducing advanced concepts such as improvisation, phrasing, and composition. My lessons integrate music theory in practical ways, helping students understand how to create, perform, and interpret music effectively. Each session is designed around the student’s goals, whether performing on stage, composing songs, or achieving technical proficiency. I emphasise both technical skill and expressive freedom, teaching students how to communicate emotion through their instrument.
Ear training, sight-reading, and improvisation are essential parts of my curriculum, preparing students to play confidently in any setting. I encourage exploration across musical genres, fostering versatility and creativity. Personalised practice routines, structured exercises, and constructive feedback ensure consistent progress. I focus on building performance confidence and stage presence, helping students overcome anxiety and perform with authenticity. My lessons are interactive, engaging, and tailored to each student’s learning style and strengths. I celebrate every milestone, knowing that growth comes from both effort and inspiration. In my guitar lessons, students learn to play confidently while understanding the why behind every note. We begin with proper posture, picking techniques, and finger placement to build solid fundamentals. As you progress, we’ll explore chords, scales, and rhythmic strumming patterns. My teaching approach combines theory with creativity, ensuring every session is both technical and fun. You’ll learn to read tablature and music notation while applying them to real songs. We’ll study tone control, timing, and stylistic expression to help shape your personal sound.
Lessons include improvisation, songwriting basics, and ear training. I offer constructive feedback to help you overcome challenges quickly. Each class is tailored to your individual pace and musical goals. You’ll gain confidence to perform, compose, or simply play for enjoyment. By the end of the course, you’ll be playing guitar with fluency, skill, and artistic freedom.
