About Gino

I’m Gino, a native Spanish speaker raised in Lima, Peru, with experience teaching beginner, intermediate and advanced Spanish in a structured, practical and supportive learning environment.

I design my lessons to help students build confidence from the very beginning. My approach combines conversation, pronunciation, useful vocabulary, simple grammar and verb conjugation with real-life situations such as traveling, ordering food, introducing yourself, asking for directions and everyday social interactions. I also develop my own lesson resources, practice activities and homework materials so students can continue learning between classes.

Having lived in Australia for many years, I understand some of the challenges English speakers experience when learning Spanish and can explain concepts in a clear and relatable way. I also bring cultural knowledge from Peru and the wider Spanish-speaking world into my lessons, helping students understand not only the language but also how it is used in everyday life.

My classes are friendly, organized and tailored to each student’s level and goals. I place a strong emphasis on creating a relaxed environment where students feel comfortable speaking, asking questions and making mistakes as part of the learning process.

Whether you are learning Spanish for travel, personal interest, relationships, family connections or simply to challenge yourself with a new language, I aim to help you develop practical skills and the confidence to actually use them.

I’m Gino, a native Spanish speaker raised in Lima, Peru, with a passion for helping people learn Spanish in a practical, relaxed and enjoyable way.

My teaching approach focuses on real-life communication rather than memorizing long lists of grammar rules. I want students to feel comfortable speaking from the beginning, even if their Spanish is not perfect yet. Lessons combine conversation, pronunciation, useful vocabulary, simple grammar and cultural insights, with plenty of opportunities to practice through realistic situations.

I use a mix of:

• Conversational practice and role-play
• Pronunciation and listening activities
• Simple, progressive grammar and verb conjugation
• Practical vocabulary for travel and everyday life
• Games, repetition and interactive exercises
• Cultural insights from Peru and the wider Spanish-speaking world
• Personalized resources and small homework activities to continue practicing between lessons

I particularly enjoy teaching Spanish through situations students are likely to experience in real life — introducing themselves, ordering food, traveling, asking for directions, shopping, meeting people and having everyday conversations.

Lessons are generally 60–90 minutes, depending on the student and learning goals. My group beginner classes are typically 90 minutes, which allows time for learning, conversation and practical activities without rushing.

I have experience developing and teaching a structured beginners and intermediate Spanish course, including pronunciation, conversational Spanish, vocabulary, conjugation, travel Spanish and cultural learning. Having grown up in Peru and lived in Australia for many years, I can also help students understand not only how Spanish is spoken, but some of the cultural differences and expressions they may encounter when traveling or communicating with Spanish speakers.

My lessons are particularly suited to:

• Adults and older teenagers
• Travelers wanting practical Spanish
• People learning Spanish for family, friendships or relationships
• Students wanting to become more confident speaking and understanding everyday Spanish

My goal is for students to leave each lesson feeling that they can actually use what they have learned.

Spanish doesn’t need to be perfect to create a connection — sometimes a few words are enough to open a conversation.
