About Carrie
I’m a university instructor and educational developer who strives to understand and work WITH students to help them gain confidence in their writing. I hold a PhD in cinema studies and have worked as an instructor in high schools and universities since 2011. I also work on a Teaching & Learning team at University of Toronto to advise instructors on research-based pedagogical strategy. I also provide regular workshops on student engagement, digital fluency, and assignment design.

I’m down to earth and want to work with you tohelp identify the tasks at hand. Once we figure out what our aim is, we’ll work through methods of organizing thoughts, arguments, and interests I to a logical and clear result. Along the way, we’ll focus on editing, syntax (word order), and some of the psychological underpinnings of writing (make your evidence work for your argument!). I’m tough but kind and my aim is to provide skills and tools that you can take away from our lessons for life.
