About Sofia
Hello there! My name is Sofia (but you can call me Sofie) and I am a currently a PhD candidate at UCD studying molecular ecology. I did my BSc. in Biology with a focus on Ecology and Evolution at the University of California, Santa Cruz, and got my MSc. degree in Biology with a focus on Ecology at the University of Zurich. I have been tutoring throughout the last 8 years of my academic journey, and I love helping people understand and fall in love with science!
I like to take a catered approach, as everyone learns differently!
In addition, I am neurodivergent and know first-hand how difficult it can be to keep up with harder materials in a school system that was not designed to suit neurodivergence. So I also make it my mission to help others who struggle with this.

I teach mainly Biology, but can teach other subjects too depending on the needs!
I aim to cater towards your personal needs, going at a comfortable pace to you. I like to use the first session to get to know each other and understand your learning needs and material. I will ask for current and future material so that I can prepare lessons and be as helpful as possible.
I prefer to take an understanding approach, rather than an exam grade focused one with lots of memorization. But if exams are close by, and panic is creeping in, there is no need to worry, as I can help with that as well!
