About Lauren
My name is Lauren, and I am an MD-PhD candidate committed to encouraging and empowering students to reach their goals. I have 4+ years of experience as a TA and tutor in STEM fields and have also worked in childcare for K-12. I am passionate about engaging children, teens, and young adults to reach their highest potential through interactive educational enrichment. 1) Active learning is backed by decades of research and is implemented in my instructional methods. I use a lot of call-and-response, review, and having students relay concepts in their own words/using their own analogies.
2) I believe that an engaged student is an empowered student. Positive feedback, games, and goal-setting are a part of every session.
3) My focus is on Biology and Life Sciences at multiple grade levels, Algebra, Chemistry, and English.
