About Malathe
I hold a PhD in Engineering and I'm a certified university-level educator with a competency-based learning qualification, which means my teaching is grounded in both deep technical expertise and a structured, proven methodology for making concepts genuinely stick — not just covering material. I specialize in physics and mechanical engineering, working with university-level students on everything from statics and dynamics to thermodynamics and materials science. Outside the classroom, I stay active through racing and weightlifting, which keeps me energetic, disciplined, and genuinely enthusiastic about every lesson I teach.

My approach centers on competency-based learning — since I hold a certified qualification in this methodology, I don't just walk you through a solution, I make sure you can actually apply the concept on your own before we move on. Every lesson starts by figuring out exactly where you're stuck, whether that's a shaky grasp of free-body diagrams or trouble connecting theory to a real system, and I build the session around closing that specific gap using worked examples, real design problems, and simulation tools like SolidWorks and Inventor when it helps to actually see a concept in action rather than just read about it.
Lessons typically run 60 minutes — enough time to work through a full problem or concept without rushing — though I'm happy to adjust the length based on what a given session or exam deadline calls for.
As for my background, I hold a PhD in Engineering and I'm a certified university-level educator with a competency-based learning qualification, so I bring both real technical depth and proper teaching training to the table, not just knowledge of the subject.
My lessons are for university-level students only, covering physics, statics and dynamics, mechanical design, thermodynamics, materials science and engineering, and renewable energies — whether you're shoring up fundamentals or cramming for a tough exam.
