About Dee
I am an Assistant Professor of English and Comparative Literature with over five years of university teaching experience in international academic settings. I hold a PhD and a recognised teaching fellowship (FHEA), and I have published widely in leading peer-reviewed journals and edited academic volumes. My research focuses on nineteenth-century literature, Oscar Wilde, and global literary circulation across East Asia.
In my teaching, I emphasise critical thinking, close reading, and rigorous academic writing. I have extensive experience guiding students in essay writing, helping them develop strong arguments, refine structure, and improve language, especially for non-native English speakers. I also support students in preparing research proposals for MA and PhD applications, offering detailed guidance on framing research questions, methodology, and academic positioning. In addition, I can help improve Chinese language proficiency, particularly in formal and academic contexts.
