About Hailan
I’m Lancer, born and raised in Shanghai, China, and I moved to the U.S. about 15 years ago. I have a Ph.D. in Foreign and Second Language Education, and I’ve always been passionate about helping people connect through language.
I absolutely love teaching Mandarin — it’s creative, dynamic, and full of surprises! My students often tell me my classes are fun, interactive, and go by way too fast. You’ll laugh, you’ll learn, and before you know it, you’ll be speaking Mandarin with confidence and ease.
