About Jamie
I received my BA in English with concentrations in grammar and linguistics from VCU. I ended up double majoring, earning a BS in Psychology. I have an MA in Psychology from American University and a PhD from Michigan State University in Sport Psychology. After graduating, I completed a 1-year postdoctoral research fellowship, writing numerous published articles. I went on to teach at a University in the state of South Carolina. I helped students learn to write, particularly in an academic environment. I’m highly trained in both fiction and nonfiction writing. My dissertation was published at approximately 200 pages. I have numerous academic articles published in peer-reviewed journals. I have also written 2 chapters for reference books. I have previously been employed as a freelance editor for magazines and books. Additionally, I am a voracious reader and am currently working on my second fiction novel. I have taught at the university level for the past 10 years.

Visit rates will be broken down and charged for the appropriate amount of time. For example, a 30-minute consultation would be $15. A 75-minute lesson would be 1.25 the cost of an hour consultation, $93.75. I am willing to work for varied times per what is needed by the student. The price would be determined up front.
