About Rachel
I'm Rachel, a positive, encouraging and supportive tutor with a PhD in linguistics and about as much academic writing experience as you can shake a stick at.
My university students told me that my academic writing classes were "game changers" and made a tangible difference to their grades.

I offer tutoring and support in essay writing, academic skills, and research skills. This expertise comes from doctoral research, writing my own articles and book chapters, and teaching university students. Support can be one-off or long-term.
My lessons balance lightheartedness with rigour, drawing on resources such as Mrs Dalloway and clips from Friends episodes to demonstrate the types of blunders that most essay writers are guilty of. My tuition combines high-quality instruction and accessible, engaging teaching resources.
