About Ali
I am a molecular biologist and PhD researcher with over ten years of experience working in some of the UK's leading scientific institutions, including Imperial College London, the NHS, and Public Health England. My research focuses on the role of microRNA in disease — work that sits at the cutting edge of modern biology.
Outside of science, I train in weightlifting, running, and boxing — disciplines that have taught me the value of consistency, structured practice, and breaking complex skills into manageable steps. I bring exactly that same approach to tutoring.

I don't teach biology by making you memorise facts — I teach you to think like a scientist. Every session starts with a short diagnostic to identify exactly where understanding breaks down, then we work through that concept from first principles until it clicks. I use real research examples from my own lab work to make abstract processes — gene expression, cell signalling, enzyme kinetics — concrete and memorable.
Each session ends with one specific task to consolidate what we covered, and I send a written summary afterwards so nothing gets lost between lessons.
