About Joanna
I am a professor of biology, teaching human biology, anatomy & physiology, and microbiology at the college level. I received my PhD in biological sciences from the University at Buffalo. My dissertation research was done at a top cancer center where I discovered my love of teaching while participating in summer programs for local students who aspired to become cancer biologists.

My teaching approach relies heavily on involving students and trying to find their individual interests, with the hopes of sparking interest and giving meaning to the subject being studied. I aim to challenge my students, but pride myself on providing continuous support and feedback through the process.
