About Lee
I have a PhD in mathematical logic from the University of California, and have been teaching math, logic and statistics to high school and college students for over 10 years. I have a special fondness for teaching AP and college statistics because these conceptually difficult subjects can also be some of the most rewarding.

What my lessons are NOT: I don't believe in teaching rote, mechanical procedures and then sending students off to do hundreds of practice problems. That is not fun and what's not fun is not easily learned.
What my lessons are: I start with the big picture. Why is this concept important, where did it come from and where does it lead? Once we have an idea of the "why", we can focus on the "how".
What sets me apart as a tutor is my empathy for students who find math confusing or frustrating, who lack confidence in their ability, who get test or performance anxiety, or who have a negative outlook on math in general. I understand that feeling because I experienced it. I bring to the table the experiences I had throughout 9 years in graduate school and 12 years teaching that can help students regain a curious, inquisitive, and confident approach to the mathematical universe.
