About Vikhyat
Academic background: I graduated with B.S in Computer Science and Math (double major) from the University of Richmond (Richmond, Virginia) with a 4.0 GPA and the top graduating senior award from both the Math and CS departments. I'll now be starting a CS PhD at Purdue University.
Teaching experience: I've been a peer tutor at the Quantitative Resource Center for all 4 years of college, tutoring students in Calc 1 & 2, Linear Algebra, Data Structures, Python, Algorithms, and Abstract Algebra. Beyond this, I've taught robotics and introductory programming to middle schoolers, machine learning to college students, and basic computer skills to retired seniors.

I like to keep lessons friendly and energetic, and try to show students how concepts can be simple and elegant at the same time. Some of my key methods are:
- asking questions that guide students toward discovering the answer themselves
- identifying gaps in prerequisite knowledge through worked examples
- brainstorming all the different ways you can solve a particular problem, to see what clicks best for the learner
