About Margaret
I have been an adjunct instructor at Dallas College the Richland Campus since 2007 teaching first and second semester Anatomy and Physiology. Many of my students have gone on to professional schools for further education in medical, dental, and nursing school, as well as other Allied Health fields (radiology technician, dental hygienist, etc.). Additionally, have over 15 years of bench experience in molecular biology techniques as evidenced by publication record.

I have a PhD in Endocrinology and Reproductive Physiology. I conducted basic research for over 15 years, both physiology and molecular biology. After leaving research, I turned to teaching. I taught Anatomy and Physiology primarily at the community college level, but I taught AP Biology to high school students and Exercise Physiology to college students at UT Dallas. In lectures I encourage discussion and in tutoring situations I go through topics one by one explaining and discussing them with the student(s) to make sure the student(s) thoroughly understands. I try to be approachable and make sure the student knows that if they have a question, chances are others in the group do as well. There are different ways of learning, so I like to combine some reading, some lecture, and some PowerPoints to better illustrate the various concepts. My job is to make sure students not only learn, but they acquire the ability to think, so they can approach problems in physiology and anatomy they have not encountered and reason their way to the answer.
