About Val
I am a masters student in Philosophy at Oxford, specialising in ancient philosophy, religion, and literature. I have 3 and a half years of experience in tutoring A Level and GCSE Philosophy and Religious Studies. I'm also a qualified teacher of English as a foreign language, with 5 years of teaching experience.

My method for teaching philosophy is based around the curriculum and understanding the exam. My priorities are (1) making sure you know how to tackle exam questions, improving your grades, and (2) helping you to understand difficult philosophical problems by thinking through different examples that are easier to understand and that are relevant to your life. The way I've tackled my own philosophy exams is by thinking through questions in a logical, step by step way. I aim to guide my students through this same process, giving them the tools to approach exam questions by themselves and with confidence.
