About Adam
I work as a freelance photographer, filmmaker, teacher and associate lecturer at University of the Arts London.
I have a Masters degree (distinction) in Photojournalism and Documentary Photography from University Arts London. I have taught photography and filmmaking to children, young people and adults. Before working in higher education, I worked as a Community Learning Tutor with many people from different backgrounds in South London.
Professionally, I mainly shoot portraits and events. My clients include London College of Fashion, London School of Economics, Young Vic Theatre, Bush Theatre, The Decolonising Arts Institute, Dishoom and various artists.
My personal work as an artist is rooted in documentary practice, but usually with a conceptual and creative twist. Search online for Adam Razvi to see my work :-)

About the lesson

Together we can:
– improve your technical camera and editing skills
– develop your creative voice and expression
– learn how to shoot film (35mm/120mm)
– learn how to develop film at home
– develop a series or a particular project
– prepare a portfolio for applications
– build or update your website
– curate and build your social media presence
– learn about the history of photography
The sessions are tailor-made to your goals, which we start setting in lesson one: 30mins free, or 1hr at a 50% discounted rate.
I suggest meeting for the first time in a public space like a quiet cafe, before getting out and about shooting with my 1-1 guidance and feedback. As a follow-up session I have guided students on custom made photography treasure hunts, which are a fun way of exploring and capturing the city, whilst building skills and confidence.
When working with children I provide the option of embedding literacy, language and numeracy skills within the sessions – keeping these elements subtle and fun!
