About Elise
I have an Honours Physics degree from the University of Bath, and achieved only top grades in my A-level studies. I now pursue tutoring alongside my career, which is a benefit to you as I am able to offer my services at a competitive rate compared to others with similar experience, I can also offer flexible, ad hoc sessions - especially valuable in the lead-up to exams. I have a passion in helping students unlock their potential and build confidence in their studies. Teaching with a goal that is focused around understanding rather than regurgitating information is for me, the goal of every session, I try to build links between topics and other subjects when teaching.

My approach to tutoring is student-focused. I tailor each session to the individual’s needs, ensuring we build both confidence and understanding. We can either go through each topic in turn, or focus on the topics the student is struggling with the most. For GCSE and A-Level students, I feel longer sessions allow ample time for learning the content and then trying practice questions together. Where appropriate, I set homework to reinforce learning and encourage students to track progress. I also offer workshop-style sessions, especially leading up to exams, which focus on exam technique. In science, I place particular emphasis on tackling longer-form questions and mastering method setups, as these are areas many students find challenging. With over a decade of experience tutoring students from primary level up to A-Level, I adapt my teaching style to suit each learner, helping them achieve their academic goals effectively.
