About Parker
I was once a young girl passionate in my educational career successful, and now I am a young adult, passionate about making other peoples' educational careers successful.
I hope to create a safe and inclusive learning environment for any person, regardless of orientation or identity. I know education is a powerful tool, however, math and physics can feel especially overwhelming, but I hope to alleviate those pressures and make it enjoyable time.

I believe that no question can ever be a bad question. I prioritize working through examples together, step by step, before allowing students to break off on their own.
I have been a teaching assistant for 3 years in my undergraduate career and 2 years of my graduate career. I taught my first course in an introduction to laboratory optics this last spring and plan to continue teaching all levels of STEM and the related fields.
My typical lesson:
- Outlining the important equations or steps
- Discussing the individual components and defining applications
- Provide practice problem with step by step solution
- Parallel problem solving, where the student and I compare solutions to the same problem
- Final problems where we identify any last questions or unknowns
I work in college education, but also have experience in elementary level tutoring. I specialize with students who are either in need of a little help understanding mathematics and physics concepts or would like to get a head start for the next step in their academic or work career.
