About Yubin
I recently graduated from the University of Vermont with a major in Physics and a minor in Mathematics. During my time there, I was involved in various projects, conducted my own semiconductor research, and served as the president of the Society of Physics Students! This experience revealed my passion for teaching STEM and making science accessible for everyone.

My lessons are designed for motivated high school or early college students who want to strengthen their understanding of mathematics, physics, or related physical sciences, especially students interested in pursuing STEM at a higher level.
My approach as a tutor is centered on building both conceptual understanding and problem-solving confidence. I like to begin by identifying what the student already understands, then use that foundation to introduce new ideas in a clear and structured way. For math and physics especially, I emphasize active practice: working through problems step by step, recognizing patterns, and learning how to choose the right strategy rather than memorizing formulas.
A typical lesson starts with a short review of the topic or homework questions, followed by a focused explanation of the main concept. From there, we work through guided examples together, gradually moving toward more independent practice. For physics topics, I also enjoy using demonstrations, visual explanations, or simple hands-on activities when possible, because they help make abstract ideas feel more concrete.
