About Richard
I taught for 2 years in a school but wanted to expand my experience so I left the teaching profession and worked for Disney on Ice for 7.5 years travelling the World and putting ice shows into the largest arenas of the World. I then spent 2 years in New York doing technical support to the Broadway market before moving to London and heading up the Technical Services team for ETC (the World's largest privately owned entertainment lighting manufacturer). I then started my own company and represented MA LIghting, Zero88 and provided technical support and lighting design solutions around the World.
The pandemic brought this work to a halt and I'm now working from home and offering my services as a tutor.

WIth a clear explanation of how the theory works in the real World, and using pupil centred techniques, maths and physics can be understood and therefore mastered.
Offering 60 minute lessons.
I completed a 3 years honours degree in electrical and electronic engineering and followed this with a 1 year post-graduate certification of education in Physics at Birmingham University. Then went on to teach for 2 years in a Comprehensive school in Mansfield for 11 to 18 year olds. General Science to all age groups, Physics to both GCSE and A-Level pupils.
My lessons are suitable for those who would like a better understanding of their school class materials who would benefit from a friendly less formal atmosphere where they can feel confident to ask any question and freely discuss what makes sense and what doesn't quite click.
