About Yusra
My name is Yusra, and I’m a graduate from the University of Warwick. I’ve recently moved to Australia and I’m really excited to explore a new environment while doing something I genuinely care about - helping students understand and enjoy learning.
I’ve always been drawn to teaching and mentoring in different forms. At university, I worked as a support team manager, where I helped a student with autism organize his studies, build routines, and stay on track academically. I also worked in SEN education with students aged 5–19, supporting them one-to-one in subjects like Math, English, and Science. Those experiences taught me a lot about patience, adaptability, and finding different ways to explain the same idea until it clicks.
Outside of that, I’ve always been naturally curious about Physics. I didn’t enjoy it at first when I was younger, but around GCSE age something changed - I started to actually understand it, and it became one of the subjects I found most exciting. That curiosity stuck with me. Even at university, I found myself going to astrophysics talks, reading books on Physics in my spare time, and joining the astrophysics society just because I enjoyed being around it. One of my favorite books is Dark Matter by Blake Crouch - I love how it mixes science with big ideas about reality.
Alongside this, I’ve also developed strong skills in communication, structure, and problem-solving through my academic background and experience in data analytics, AI, and software development. But at the core of everything I do, I really enjoy working with people and helping them feel more confident when something feels difficult at first.
For me, tutoring isn’t just about explaining answers - it’s about helping students feel like they can do it. I try to create a calm, supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and slowly building real understanding.
I’m looking forward to working with students here in Australia and helping them not just improve in Physics, but actually feel more confident in it.

I like to keep my lessons relaxed, supportive, and really focused on helping students actually understand Physics, not just memorize it for a test. I know a lot of people find Physics overwhelming at first, so I break things down into simple steps and explain things in a way that makes sense, using examples where I can.
At the start, I usually get a feel for where the student is at- what they’re finding difficult, what they’re confident with, and what they want to achieve. From there, I tailor the lessons to them. Some students want help keeping up in class, others want to improve their grades or aim higher, so I adjust depending on their goals.
A typical lesson is around 60 minutes. We’ll go through key ideas together, work through questions, and I’ll show you how to approach problems properly rather than just guess. I also help with exam technique, which makes a big difference once you understand the content.
Alongside my degree from the University of Warwick, I’ve worked as a teaching assistant in a SEN school and worked with students aged 5–19, and I’ve also mentored students at university - helping with things like study structure, time management, exam preparation, and building confidence. Because of that, I’m patient and used to explaining things in different ways until it clicks.
My lessons are best suited for high school students (Years 7–10), whether you’re finding Physics difficult or just want to get better and feel more confident in it.
