About Jemella
My name is Jemella, and I can't wait to work with you! I am a passionate musician and music educator who has been making music for over 18 years. I hold a Bachelor's of Music Education from The College of Wooster, where I graduated summa cum laude as a member of Pi Kappa Lambda Music Honor Society. I have over eight years of experience helping learners of all ages and skill levels on their musical journey. When I am not playing, listening to, teaching, or writing about music, I love reading, working out, and playing with my dogs.

I believe that learning should be student-centered, based on each individual student's needs, goals, strengths, and areas of growth. My piano lessons include a mix of repertoire, technique work, and theory to build well-rounded and sensitive musicians. Theory and history lessons encourage active participation from students whenever possible, focusing on students' interests and involving them in their own learning. I have experience working with students of all ages, from elementary school students to adults, at levels from beginner to advanced.
