About Nikolai
I have been playing for 13 years, and have experience playing with orchestra and at competitions. I have placed first in the Sempre Musick competition, and have played duets at the regional level with my sister for the Granite State Duet competitions, South Florida International Piano Festival, and MTNA duet competition. I have taken 3 years of competition classes to help understand music theory, and I have experience on the pipe organ, and accompanying church services on keyboard.

In classical piano, correct technique is paramount. With proper posture, hand position, and articulation, it becomes much easier to progress into more complex pieces. Depending on the level of the student and the goals for the lesson, I might assign etudes to build the student's technical background, and work through repertoire pieces with the students. My goal in teaching piano is to show students that they can play beautifully, and that the process of learning a piece to perform at a concert or competition is enjoyable and rewarding.
